You’ve no doubt heard and read plenty of articles discussing the declining interest in Google Glass. In the developer community, Twitter has given up on its Glass app and individual developers have said they think Glass is failing. Regular Glass wearers have also indicated some measure of displeasure or disinterest in Glass. In a recent poll here on Glass Almanac, almost 350 Explorers voted and less than half said they’d recommend Glass to a good friend.

You can add our most recent poll to the evidence that Explorers are losing interest in Glass. In early December, we asked “Are you using Glass more or less than you did 6 months ago?” In the six weeks since then, almost 150 people voted and more than half said they’re using Glass less. The votes were split after that, with 25 percent saying they use it more and 24 percent saying they use it about the same.

Really, I don’t think anyone should be surprised at those numbers. I think they speak to the slow development of Glass itself (there hasn’t been an XE software update since mid-October), as well as the lack of new apps — especially from well-known brands/companies. As we’ve talked about before here on GA, it looks like Glass is going to find its initial successes in business and enterprise, much like computers and smartphones did.

As always, our standard disclaimers apply to the poll results. It’s not meant to be scientific in any way, and we have no way of knowing if some of the votes are from non-Explorers (although we doubt many non-Explorers are even aware of Glass Almanac).

New Poll Question: Consumer Launch of Glass?

In our latest poll question, we want to know if you think Glass will have a wider consumer launch in 2015. Cast your vote below or over in the right sidebar, and we’ll report back at a later date.

Will Google Glass have its broad consumer launch in 2015?
