Looking for work? Or maybe just looking for continued signs that Google Glass is alive and well?

How about this: Google recently posted eight new engineering jobs on the Google Glass team. GA reader David Carr discovered the new openings and tipped us off.

All eight positions were posted March 7th on Google’s career search website; you can see them at this link, or just do a search for “google glass.” The job titles are as follows:

  • Software Engineer, Android GDK (Glass)
  • Lead Engineer, Enterprise (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Voice (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Connectivity (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Enterprise Services (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Sensors (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Multimedia (Glass)
  • Software Engineer, Enterprise Applications

There’s also a 9th position (Hardware Test and Validation Engineer) that was posted back in January.

Three of the positions are specifically focused on enterprise-level work — i.e., the successful Glass At Work program.

I’ve read all of the job descriptions and don’t see anything new or noteworthy about any one of them individually. But reading the breadth of the work — development, sensors, voice and speech recognition, multimedia, connectivity, etc. — it almost looks like this is an entire new mini-unit coming in to work on Glass 2.0. And it reminds me of the recent report on 9to5 Google about Google shuffling engineers on the Glass project. Yep. I’d say so.
