The list of software development kits available for smart glasses just got a little longer. Finland-based Augumenta has released its SDK targeting enterprise applications.

Augumenta announced its SDK back in July. Since then the company has got the attention of Butterfly Ventures. The investment group has shown confidence in Augumenta’s vision by completing the company’s first round of external financing.

The SDK is currently limited to “qualified developers of smart applications for enterprise users.”

Although this year has seen the Glassware directory grow considerably with apps aimed at consumers, the interest in enterprise applications is growing steadily. Organizations like Augumenta and its backers are placing bets on businesses gravitating to smart glass devices. Practical applications in industrial or medical arenas could help improve Glass’ image as an expensive tech toy and secure a much longer future for smart glass devices.
